Frankenstein

I never read Frankenstein before nor read the story behind it, closest thing i ever saw was Herman Munster.   From the beginning it was slow but was different from what i expected from a monster novel, It turned out to be more about Dr. Frankenstien and his past then the buildup to his monster. But once he did star construction of his creature the details were different than i previously had imagined from the movie version. He then abandons his dreams after sighting his monster and abandons the poor creature. The circumstances that lead up to williams accidental murder by the monster seemed sad as he is just trying to find companion. During the time Frankensteins monster watches the De lacey family he becomes educated like a wealthy person, but in his loneliness tries to connect with them but receives a harsh treatment which scars him even more and makes him want to seek out vengeance against his creator. Towards the end of the novel frankenstein monster kills Frankensteins friend after he ditches the body of his second creation before he animated it. Frankenstien comes back to is home marries elizabeth and then she is killed by his monster as well. The story started to tie itself together with the beginning finally I now knew why he was up in the North Pole, he was looking to find and kill his monster though he becomes sick and eventually succumbs to it and dies. Later the monster is found mourning his creator finding no relief in his death, that all his killing gave him nothing but hurt and misery. The end was not what i was expecting to this story as he then travels alone to destroy himself. The whole story was just saddening, with the loss of family and friends, alienation and the teen angst of the monster just trying to fit in and have a place in the world. For such a old story it brings up alot of moral questions still being ask today, along with similar issues. I belive this is why the story is still so strong.
